Yes—in many ways!  Despite living in a very dangerous neighborhood, Israel remains the sole democracy in the entire region.  The Economist’s ‘Democracy Index 2017’ ranks Israel just below France and above Belgium.  Israel’s high-tech innovations in all fields have saved countless lives and vastly improved the quality of life of many others.  Israeli doctors and first responders have traveled to all parts of the world to assist disaster victims.  Israel even provides free medical aid to thousands of Syrian victims of the civil war.  Dr. Raphael Danziger will describe Israel’s extraordinary accomplishments in all these areas.
