True answers to all your questions about interfaith families & welcoming work
This presentation is rooted in the importance of being able to speak truthfully and kindly even when you are delivering less than happy news.  Dawn Kepler and Rabbi Samantha Kahn will raise the questions that couples and community members don’t know to ask, the questions they receive in their work with Multifaith and Interfaith families & newly engaged couples.  Participants will have the opportunity to privately submit their own questions.  Here are some samples:

Do we need to simplify Judaism to make it more accessible?
What’s the goal of welcoming interfaith families? I think I’m welcoming… but am I?
Do these people know that I’m not Jewish?  Should I say something?
Why is Chabad so good at welcoming?  Can we as community leaders outside of Chabad learn from them?
Does officiating at interfaith marriages really make couples more likely to be engaged in Jewish community?
I don’t need to get to know the florist for my wedding, why do I need to get to know the rabbi?
Why do my questions get reassurances instead of answers?
What if I feel uncomfortable when everyone is telling me I’m so welcome?
