Israel and the UN – It’s Complicated

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The United Nations (UN) played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Jewish State by passing in 1947 the partition plan of British Mandate Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab.  Ever since, Israel and the UN have long-lasting relations, and cooperation on many topics.
At the same time, the international body has a continuing history of a one-sided, hostile approach to Israel, specifically at the General Assembly and in some of its bodies, such as The Human Rights Council and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).  Ravit Baer will address this complex situation and the Israeli perspective on it.
