Rafi Danziger

Senior Research Advisor and Editor-in-Chief Emeritus
Dr. Danziger is Senior Research Advisor at AIPAC's Policy and Government Affairs department and Near East Report's Editor-in-Chief Emeritus. He moved from a Washington suburb to the San Francisco Bay area in 2017. He was AIPAC’s Director of Research and Information in 1990-2010 and Editor-in-Chief of Near East Report in 1992-2010.
During the 1980's, Dr. Danziger was a foreign policy analyst at the American Jewish Congress. He previously taught modern Middle Eastern history at the University of Haifa in Israel and the University of Washington in Seattle. He was also a visiting fellow at Princeton University and a consultant on Middle Eastern affairs at the Hudson Institute.
He has published a book and many articles on the Middle East and North Africa, and his op-eds have appeared in the New York Times and other leading newspapers. He has lectured extensively on the Middle East, and was interviewed on the PBS NewsHour and other news programs. Dr. Danziger holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University, an M.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a B.A. in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
